We Are L'oreal Hair Colour Experts

At Sleek and Chic Hair Design our colour specialists are among the best in the country when it comes to hair colour. They have worked hard to gain the L'Oreal Professional Colour Specialist degree which recognises their skill and expertise in understanding your hair and what can be achieved using the most up to date hair colours and techniques.

As part of our service, we will offer you a complimentary hair colour consultation where we can discuss the look you want us to create. We will advise on the best hair colours and hair colour techniques to ensure you walk out of our salon with the most amazing hair colour.

Whether it's the latest ombre or balayage colour or highlights to brighten up your hair colour, our colour experts are waiting to bring new dimension to your hair style. We can also cover up grey hair and tackle root regrowth with regular follow-up hair colour appointments. You can book an appointment now or contact us directly to discuss your new colour.

Please note: A patch test is required 48 hours prior to all colour services to ensure there are no allergies. This is compulsory for your safety. All colour services must also be finished with a blow dry or cut and finish and we may charge extra for long and / or  thick hair.

What are highlights?

Highlights are a hair colouring technique that uses thin strips of foil to isolate strands of hair, which are then lightened with dye or bleach, allowing for precise application and a variety of looks ranging from subtle, natural highlights to dramatic changes. This method ensures the dye remains on the targeted strands, preventing it from affecting surrounding hair and achieving a cleaner, more defined effect. It’s suitable for any natural hair length or colour, offering customisation based on individual preferences. Foil highlights enhance your hair by adding uniform brightness and dimension without altering your base colour significantly. They offer various placement options, such as T-Section, half-head, or full-head.

What is balayage?

Balayage is a French word that means ‘to sweep.’ It’s our most popular colouring technique and for good reason. Balayage involves hand-painting colour onto sections of hair to create a natural, sun-kissed effect that adds depth and dimension, creating a versatile and timeless look that suits a wide range of hair types, lengths and face shapes.

This popular technique is designed to grow out gracefully with less noticeable regrowth compared to other methods. Unlike traditional highlights, this option doesn’t require frequent salon visits for touch-ups. Perfect for clients who cannot visit the salon regularly. Over time, as the shades become closer to your natural colour, they will gradually lighten.

What is face framing?

With face framing, the highlights are lighter than your other hair, creating a striking yet subtle contrast. This naturally draws attention to your features, such as your cheekbones and jawline, resulting in a look that complements them. The key is not just to add colour to your face, but also to create a more structured and defined appearance tailored to your face shape. For example, those with round faces might choose diagonal highlights to make their faces look elongated.
